HDC (HOUND DOG COUNTRY), is a thick, highly emollient cream formulated primarily for hunting and outdoor dogs to treat cut, burnt, or sore paw pads. It is made with an intense base of pure lanolin and infused with DMSO.
Because lanolin is a dense, water-insoluble sheep's wool wax, it does not absorb instantly into the skin. If a dog roams freely indoors immediately after you apply it, they will leave oily, waxy paw prints across hardwood, tile, or laminate floors.
Tips to Avoid Floor Stains:
- Restrict Movement: Keep your dog on a rug, in a crate, or resting on an old towel for 15 to 20 minutes after application to give the cream time to work into the pads.
- Use Booties or Socks: Slip a pair of breathable dog booties or clean socks over their paws while the lotion absorbs.
- Apply Before Sleep: The easiest method is to apply the lotion right before your dog goes to sleep for the night so it can absorb undisturbed.
